PELLETIER NORMANDEAU, Yvette

1934 - 2024

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Yvette Normandeau née Pelletier on May 23rd, 2024, at the age of 89.  Beloved widow of Guy Normandeau and daughter of the late Denis Pelletier and of the late Irène Lacombe.

Born June 14, 1934 in Edmunston, New Brusnwick, Yvette was the 6th of 8 children.  Shortly after graduating from high school, Yvette married Guy in 1955, living in North Bay (Ontario), Grostenquin (France) Angus (Ontario), Lahr (Germany), Saint-Bruno (Québec), eventually settling in Gatineau (Québec). She and Guy also spent 22 happy winters at Neapolitan Park, Naples, Florida, where they made many goods friends.

She leaves behind her children Denis (Bianca), Ben (Murray) and Lynne. She was a doting grandmother to Michel (Amélie), Emilie and James, caring great-grandmother to Oscar and treasured aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind one brother Florien (the late Patricia), her sisters Lucille (the late Armand), Lorraine (the late Jack) and Colette (Frankie), as well as many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings Jean-Guy, Léone (the late Medord) and Blanche (the late Roland).

Yvette was optimistic, empathetic, gracious, and rarely complained. Her loss will be felt by many, and for a very long time.

In order to respect her wishes, there will be no funeral.

For those who wish to do so, donations to the foundation of your choice are welcome.

The family wishes to thank the Gatineau Hospital staff for their support and good care.
