Greene, Sarah

GREENE, Sarah

1940 - 2024

Passed peacefully away on May 27th, after a courageous battle with cancer with her son Andrew and her long-time friend Laura by her side, Sarah Anne Greene of Gambo, NL, and a long time resident of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Johanna Greene of Gambo, many siblings, and her husband of more than 38 years, John A. Cochrane also of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.

Left with fond and loving memories are her son Andrew, (Lorraine), of Gander NL, grandson Christopher, (Carla), great grand children, Violet and Max of Port Hope Simpson, Labrador, and extended members of the Greene family of Gambo, NL, and her special great friend of many years, Laura Zapotochny of Kirkland Lake, as well as a very large circle of relatives and friends.

Cremation has taken place, and she is buried with John at Kirkland Lake cemetery.

The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the Doctors and nursing staff of the palliative care unit, at Kirkland Lake hospital, for the excellent, and compassionate care given to her over her extended stay, as well as house keeping, and dietary staff who visited daily and asked of her condition, and Andrew's well being with genuine concern. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Kirkland Lake will always be a very special place for him.

Also, to Mark Woolridge, Master of Doric Masonic Lodge# 623, Kirkland Lake, and MW Grand Master Don Vokey and members of members of the Masonic Fraternity throughout Newfoundland & Labrador for their support through this most difficult time. Also, to Richard Renaud for playing music for Sarah on her last day. Your kindness will always be cherished.

To childhood neighbour and friend, Father Micheal Ryan in Ireland for his continued Prayers, words of encouragement, and comfort as always in life, along with his mother and family at home in Gander.

In closing Andrew would also thank all those who have been good to his mother throughout very active her life, by offering her, friendship, and kindness.

"My sincere wish from the bottom of my heart is that God will Bless each and everyone of you with his abundant Love."
