It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Roland Redding on January 26th 2018 surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Devoted and beloved husband of Liane, loving father of Philippe (Pina), Anne (Philippe) and Stephen (Chantale) and grand dad to Alexandre, Gabrielle, Stephanie, Caroline, Ashley & Daphnee. He shared a special bond with his adoring grandchildren and maintained a true sense of family values throughout his life. He will be terribly missed by all who knew him. Brother to Gilberte (Eliseo) and to Jacqueline (late Stan) and brother-in-law to Denis (Louise). He will always remain in our hearts. He also leaves many nieces, nephews & cousins as well as many close friends.
He was passionate about art, classical music, travelling, chess and bridge.
Roland was born in Egypt in 1931 and attended the British Boy’s School in Alexandria. He then went on to study engineering at the Universities of London and Bristol in England. He came to Montreal in 1956 and completed management studies at McGill . He had a remarkable career as an executive at Petrofina & Petro-Canada.
The family wishes to acknowledge the exceptional care he received at Notre-Dame Hospital and is especially grateful to the nurses and staff at the VIGI Mont-Royal for their compassion and dedication.
The family will receive condolences at 10am on Saturday February 3rd 2018 at St-Joseph church, 1620 Laird blvd, Town of Mount-Royal followed by a mass at 11am.
A donation can be made to the heart and stroke foundation in his memory.
