Toute la famille
Mes sincères sympathies à vous tous : famille et amis .
With the deepest sorrow, we announce that Roger Panet Ouellet of Gatineau, Quebec, passed away peacefully on March 1st, 2024 at the age of 99 years.
"Papie" as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was born on September 7, 1924 in Quebec City to mother Alice Corinne Panet and father Edouard Antil Ouellet.
Papie was the loving father of late Lynn and Guy. He was grandfather to Brigitte (Luc), Maxim (Roxanne), Fabien (Carolyne), Kyla and Julie (Imara), great-grandfather to Veronik, Aminata, Azana, Ayanda, Scarlett and Gael and great-great-grandfather to Zakary. Papie was a brother to Guy (Phyllis), Louise (Donald), Pauline (Arthur), Henri (Pierette) and Bernard (Florence). He was a beloved friend, neighbour and travel companion to many.
Papie was so lucky to have known love twice in his lifetime, first with late Georgette Methot, mother to his children, and later, with late Suzanne Trépanier with whom he shared his love of Mexico, dance and good tequila.
At almost a century old, Papie was proud that his centennial birthday coincided with the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Airforce, an institution with which he had a long career and many adventures.
In his final decades, Papie embodied wisdom, grace, and boundless love for his family and those around him. We will cherish the imprints of his 'third eye' kisses on our foreheads and will feel his embrace when we see the fluffiest white cloud in the sky.
