Richarda (Ria) Bouwman-Bomars

1936-2024

With great sadness we inform you of the loss of our beloved wife and mother Ria. After a long and full life, Ria, loving and supportive wife to Adrianus and precious mama to Diane (Jim), Nicoletta (Kerry), and Thea (Yves) passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024 in Aylmer, QC at the age of 87.

On November 19, 1936 in Ouderkerk a/d Amstel, The Netherlands, Ria was born to the late Nicolaas Bomars and the late Johanna Ebbelaar. She was one of ten and leaves behind two dear sisters Truus and Nicolette and her delightful brother Richard.  She was predeceased by her equally dear sisters Betty, Nel, Jos, Wil, Ans and Thea.  She also leaves to mourn many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends both in Canada and in The Netherlands.

Ria was a teacher and taught for a number of years in both The Netherlands and Canada. She was passionate about teaching, truly cared about all her students and never stopped teaching us.

Ria was a devoted wife and mother and she will be sadly missed, always loved and never forgotten.

A Celebration of her life and love will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 10 am at La Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais, 116 MacLaren Street East in Gatineau, Buckingham sector.  Family will receive condolences as of 9:30 am.
