BEATON, Perry

1945 - 2022

With gratitude for the gift of time we had with him and sadness it has run out, Perry’s family announces his passing at La Maison Aube Lumière on Friday, August 26th, 2022. Perry was diagnosed with terminal cancer in March and quickly accepted the inevitability of his fate. He had loved his life and he also came to accept and love this final chapter.

Many of you called, sent messages and spent hours by his bedside. He cherished and lived for these moments along with the kindness, love and compassion of the outstanding doctors, staff and volunteers at the hospice. He enjoyed his time there and was deeply appreciative of everything they did for him.

Perry was the second son of Byron and Ruth Beaton. He was predeceased by his brother Artie (Sue) and leaves in mourning his sisters, Miriam (Don) and Liz (late Andy), nieces and nephews Tamara, Nina, Austin, Kimberley, Joel, John and Justin (deceased) and their families. He also leaves behind his special lifelong friends Charles-Antoine Caron, Sophie Caron and Louise St Pierre and their families.

He was brilliantly smart and talented in so many areas including the arts, science, mechanics and all things weather. He was passionate about and known throughout his beloved Eastern Townships and beyond for his photography, his music and the quality of his many many friendships. He was a gentleman and a true friend who saw the best in everyone and in every situation. His friendships were diverse spanning all walks of life and all generations. He never hesitated to let the people in his life know what they meant to him and he will be missed by so many!

Please join us on Saturday, September 24th from 2 - 5pm at the Golden Lion in Lennoxville to celebrate his life. Bring along your music (instruments and voices) and stories of Perry. In his honour, feel free to wear something plaid.

The family would welcome donations, in Perry’s memory, to La Maison Aube Lumière to help them continue the important work that they do.
