May died on June 7th, 2007 at the CHLSD Foyer Richmond. She was 94 years and 9 months old. May and her late husband, Frank Henry Thompson, were married on June 20th 1936. May is survived by her daughter, Marilyn "Marnie" and son-in-law Richard Fortier. Her daughter, Frances, died in 1986 and son-in-law, Russell Lowry, died in 1999. May's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life: Laura Johnston and Aubrey MacDougall, Peter, Patrick, Caitlin, Gillian and Thomas of Ormstown, QC; Andy Johnston and Hilary Smyth, Madeline and Alexander of Toronto, ON; Robin Lowry and André Lévesque, Marc-André and Benoit of Pointe Claire, QC; MaryBeth "Missy" and Jim Patrick, Isabelle, Jasmine, Emma, Logan and Jacob of Richmond, QC; Christopher Johnston and Maryse Paquette, Steven, Cynthia, Matthew and Benjamin of Cleveland, QC; Derek Lowry and Tina Manryk, Justyn, Brodie and Tyla of Pointe Claire, QC. May's sisters, Roberta and Willa, and her brothers, Stewart, Donald and Leslie all predeceased her. May was the daughter of William Kerr Rattray and Ruby May Sheppard Rattray. May had many nieces and nephews who kept in touch with her by visits and phone calls, as she was their link to the past and the stories of the family that she shared with all. May's memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the Richmond and Melbourne United Church, 247 Principale Sud, Richmond, QC at 1:00 p.m. Her family will be at the church at noon to receive family and friends. May has lived at the Foyer Richmond for the past 5 years and received loving and attentive care from each and every person who came in contact with her.
