Roarke, Marlene

ROARKE, Marlene

1954 - 2023

It is with heavy hearts on this difficult day that we announce the passing of a truly remarkable woman.  Marlene (Roarke) Cox passed peacefully at the CHUS hospital in Sherbrooke, Quebec on October 29th, 2023, at the age of 68.  Marlene was the daughter of the late Malcolm Roarke and Mildred (Dempsey) Roarke.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 43 years Dennis Cox.  She was a cherished sister to siblings Dianne Roarke (late Pete Nabuurs), and Lyle Roarke (Lois Kirby). Words cannot begin to convey how much she will be deeply missed by her two sons Jeremiah (Miranda McGee) and Joseph (Kassandra Norrie) and her daughter Jessica (Scott Stephens).  Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren (Alice, William, Avery, James, Charlotte and Rebecca).  She is lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Marlene was a kind-hearted, empathetic soul who thrived on her dedication and love for her family.  She was a devoted wife, and a strong role model for her children.  Her love and joy for her grandchildren emanated from her in their presence.  She will be fondly remembered by her close friends, with whom she developed an unbreakable bond.  She will always be remembered for her witty humor, unforgettable smile and infectious laughter.

Visitation will take place at the Cass funeral home in Lennoxville, Quebec (3006 Rue College) on Wednesday November 1st, 2023, from 6-9pm, and on Thursday November 2nd, 2023, from 12-1pm at the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Lennoxville followed by a service at 1pm.  Interment to follow at the Elmwood Cemetery. (1101 Rue Hyatt, Sherbrooke, QC)

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.  Psalm 116:15

So sorry to hear of your loss. Isn't it curious that Marlene passed away on the very day we were celebrating the anniversary of the church she served so faithfully!
May the Lord give you grace and peace in the days ahead.
