2007

Family and friends were greatly saddened to learn of the passing of Marjorie Thelma Lane Dobb Sunday November 11th 2007 at the C.H.U.S Site Hotel Dieu (Pallative Care Unit). In her 80th year, her family and friends were by her side in her final days of a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 12th 1928, she was the first of nine children. She was the dear daughter of the late Marcellous Lane and Winnifred Young of Ives Hill, the sister of Austin Lane (Anne) of Edmonton Alberta, Delbert (Edith) of Waterville Quebec, Elizabeth (William Skuse) of Danville Quebec, the late Grace (the late Burton Hughes) of Lennoxville Quebec, the late Reta (the late Alton Burton) of Compton, Gilbert (Margaret) of Calmar Alberta, Graydon of Lennoxville Quebec, Marguerite (Douglas Beaucage) of Ottawa Ontario and sister-in-law Judy Lane of Lennoxville Quebec. She leaves to mourn her sons; Edgar (wife Sharon) of Mississauga Ontario, grandchildren Matthew (Edna) and Charlene (Josh Cooper) and two great grandchildren Christopher and Brian; Robert ( wife Kathryn) of Elora Ontario and grandchildren Shaun and Melissa. She will be dearly missed by her companion Ashley Gemmel of Ways Mills. Marjorie was a person who loved life, her flowers and those that were dear to her. With a cup of tea, home baked goods and a generous heart, she was always there to greet her much welcomed visitors at the door of her residence. Her spirit and generosity will always be remembered by those that had the opportunity to be graced by her presence and her love. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and loved ones. The funeral will be held at the Hatley United Church on Thursday November 15th 2007. Visitation will be at the church from 12:00 until 2:00pm. Interment will be at the Ives Hill Cemetery beside her beloved late sister Reta. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held at the Ives Hill Community Centre. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the C.H.U.S Site Hotel Dieu Pallative Care Unit, The Hatley United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St. Sherbrooke, QC (Lennoxville), Tel: (819) 564-1750 / www.casshomes.ca.
