It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Manuel Enrique Butron Calderon
Manuel passed away on September 15, 2018 at the age of 43.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Jamie Grimes Butron Calderon, his mother Rosa Calderon Vergara and his adored son Joaquin. Manuel also leaves behind his sisters Rosa and Yolanda; his mother-in-law Maryann Grimes and his father-in-law Robert Andrews as well as many nieces, nephews, cherished friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by his father Manuel Enrique Butron Juarez.
As per Manuel's wishes a celebration of his life will be held at a later date and donations can be made to the Scleroderma Society of Canada in his memory.

Hello! i worked with Manuel at CMHC in the CRO sector. He was a kind and dedicated professional and I enjoyed working with him. He often talked of Joaquin and his progress in skiing.
I am retired now but I know that Manuel will be missed at CMHC.

I worked with Manuel only for a brief period in CMHC, but even during this short time I could see how genuine he was with his feelings. I was completely shocked to hear about the sad news. My heart felt sympathies to you. May you have the strength to cope with this loss.

Manuel was my manager for 2 years at CMHC. He always treated his team like his peers and friends, and he was always so supportive whenever I needed time-off or flexible work arrangements. He was so positive and smiling, that I could not even suspect that he has been fighting a fatal disease for years.
I have been devastated since Sunday night, when I received the tragic news. I hardly believe it that I just saw him the day before he left us: he looked so fresh and full of life... Seeing such a young and positive man leave us suddenly at the peak of his life is an enormous loss. His sudden passing has left a huge gap that will never be filled...
My sincere condolences. Manuel’s passing is a sad, sudden loss for many. He was a gentleman and consummate professional in his job, at which he excelled from my perspective as a co-worker, lawyer, specialist and member of management. More importantly, Manuel had a kind heart and joie de vivre that will be missed. It has been a true loss for me to no longer be working and collaborating with people like him. I have faith that he is in a good place, looking out for his family still. I truly hope you will all persevere and continue to make him proud.

It is with tremendous sadness that I hear of Manuel’s passing. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Manuel for a number of years. I was always impressed by how sincere and thoughtful he was with everyone he work with. He was very talented and his advice was always valuable. He will be deeply missed.
Manuel was such a kind soul. I was touched by his gentle nature almost immediately upon meeting him. He was a teacher and a coach to me and to everyone. Patient beyond reason. He embodied the best of us.
I will miss him.
I am honored and blessed to have worked with and for Manuel as my direct manager. He was truly a blessing in my life and I will never forget his kindness. Manuel and I shared a special work relationship that is indescribable. He practiced all CMHC’s values, particularly thinking “yes” first. Manuel never said “no” to my requests even at a short notice.
His open-door attitude is unprecedented. Every Monday morning at work, Manuel’s first question to me would be “how was your weekend? Did you spend quality time with your family…?”
As always, Manuel looked very healthy and shaming on Friday at work, in fact we discussed about work projects for Monday. Words cannot express my sadness when I saw the email that he passed on Saturday.
Work will never be the same knowing that Manuel is not coming back to work.
Manuel was like a brother whom I spent eight hours with every weekday. He was very flexible, empathetic, intelligent and understanding. I am shedding tears as I write this message. May God give him eternal rest!
Jamie, Joaquin, Manuel’s entire family and friends, may care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. May the comfort of God help you through this difficult time...AMEN!

I knew Manuel for several years through our work at CMHC. He spoke often of you both, especially Joaquin. He was so deeply thoughtful, caring, funny, and intelligent. He was exceptional, and I feel privileged to have known him.

I am really sorry for your loss. I have been working closely with Manuel in the last one year. I still remembered the first time I met him. He was so nice and welcomed me to CMHC. He was always calm, diligent and willing to help. He was such a good friend and colleague. I remembered our chat about kids, sharing of experiences and places to visit in Ottawa. We all miss him very much.

I knew Manuel through the work at CMHC. We often chatted when running into each other in the hall. He'd been washing and having an apple, and was always gentle and pleasant with a soft smile and kind words.

Manuel was always genuine, kind and thoughtful with great integrity. He would stop by my office all the time and ask me how I was doing with a warm smile that I will never forget. We often talked about our families, my older son is about the same age with Joaquin. Last week, I shared my recent interest and passion for camping and Manuel's eyes sparkled when I mentioned how much I love falling to sleep with the sound of nature and waking up with the sun on the tent's roof.
Manuel, it was a great privilege to know someone as wonderful as you. May you rest in peace. I will miss you!

He excelled in his interactions with others. His calm, positive approach, smile, and his ability to value and care for others, not to forget his valuable knowledge, made it special to interact with him.
I am convinced that he will have permanently left a positive footprint in the lives of his family, friends and colleagues.
He will be deeply missed by many, including me.
I’ll remember Manuel as someone who always had a positive attitude and the kindest words to greet you, at all occasions. As a Latin-American myself, it’s even tougher to see one of yours leaving, especially someone who was so young and talented.

I'm part of the CMHC family and have worked closely with Manuel over the past 2 years. He was a tremendous person and a great colleague. I'm still incredibly shocked and saddened by his sudden death. I also live in Aylmer and we often talked about how much we enjoyed living in this part of the city. He was a kind and gentle man who will be greatly missed. Mes sympathies à toute la famille.

I worked with Manuel for several years at CMHC; we'd talk about his family, travel, politics, philosophy but rarely about work! He'd never hesitate to help me with my mediocre Spanish. He made coming into work a real pleasure and was a great friend. I will miss him a lot.

I am so very, very sorry to here of Manuel's passing. I know he was a very proud husband and father and spoke of you both often. I remember meeting his mother, who was visiting from Peru, when you brought Joaquin in for the children's Christmas Party, I saw where he got his warm smile and his endless kindness. Please know that the CMHC family is here to help out in any way we can.

Conoci a Manuel hace muchos años en Lima, cuando tenia su perro napoleon y su perra almendra, eramos amigos de muchos años, cuando el aun estudiaba en la USIL en Lima. Conoci a su padre en vida y a su familia es increible que ya no este mas con nosotros estuve buscandolo por internet y mande algunos correos sin exito.
