"Miss me, but let me go"  A. Mabel Thorne (née Healy) died peacefully at home on Saturday, the 22nd of August 2015. Mabel is survived by her children, Phil (Line), Andy (Johanne) and Diane (Alex); siblings, Kathleen, Helen, Donald (Esther), Dorothy (Ronald) and Robert (Nancy); grandchildren, Adam, Tyna (Patrice) and Andrew, and great-grandchildren Jessica, Calista and Maeva. She is also survived by her sister in-law Harriet, Adam’s mother Bertha (Len), and numerous close friends and relatives. She is preceded in death by her husband George, daughter Cathy (Pierre) and her siblings Ken and Margaret. Mabel was born on the 23rd of June, 1929 in Danville, QC to Harvey and Bertha Healy. She spent her early life living in Danville, Asbestos and Richmond in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. She and her family moved to the West Island of Montreal and she enjoyed working in accounting at Fuller Tool for several years. In her retirement, she took great pride in tending her gardens, had a passion for ‘Scrabble’, and enjoyed a weekly game of cards with friends. A funeral is scheduled for noon on Sunday, the 4th of October at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home at 222 Autoroute 20, Pointe-Claire, QC H9S 3X6, with a reception and luncheon to follow. For those wishing to attend the luncheon, please let the family know by contacting Diane at diane.eliz.taylor@gmail.com or by calling 514-791-1034. A private interment ceremony will take place following the luncheon. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mabel’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your favourite charity or Mabel’s preferred charity; The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
