It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lina, at the age of 87 of Hull, Quebec.
Lina is predeceased by her beloved husband Donald, her cherished daughters Johanne (Michel) and Linne, loving parents Frank Olmstead and Irène (née Brunet) and brothers and sisters Ronald, Robert, Francois (late Aline), Raymond, Rejean (late Lise), Jacques, Monique (late Tony), Carole (late Michel) and Richard (late Raymonde).
She leaves behind her devoted son Daniel (Jacqueline), who brought her immense pride and joy. Lina was the adored grandmother of Natalie (Alex), Laura, Tania, Danny, Megan, Laurie (Justin), Patrick and Wayne as well as a doting great-grandmother to Sarah, Madison, Bryanna, Ellie, Chloe, Maëva, Jessie, Jayden, Brandon, Travis and Jodie. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Maurice (Nicole), Sonia (Robert), Lisette (late Jean-Pierre), as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends who cherished her kindness, strength and warm spirit.
Lina will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her resilience in the face of life’s challenges and her ability to bring people together with her laughter and gentle presence.
A small celebration of life will be held to honour Lina’s life on December 5th, 2024, at 2 p.m. at La Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais -Pavillon Lac-des-Fées- 95 de la Cité des Jeunes Boulevard in Gatineau (Hull sector). Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate her remarkable journey. Family will receive condolences as of 1h15 p.m. Following the service, tea and dessert will be served in the salon. Lina would have loved for you to stay and enjoy these treats in her memory.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate care staff, nurses and Dr. Foucault of the 1st floor at the CHSLD Lionel-Émond, who provided Lina with exceptional care and comfort in her final days.
