MARTIN, Keith

1946 - 2021

Martin, John Keith (Keith)

Peacefully, on June 18th, 2021, while listening to the music of Bob Dylan, Keith decided to start "knock, knock, knockin' on Heaven's door" and let himself in. Keith is survived by his daughter Susannah Kim (Jos), grandson Oliver, brother Pat (Brenda) and his faithful cat, Frankie. He will be remembered by many cousins and good friends, including Wendy MacIntyre and Rose Pommier. A heartfelt thank you to Rose, Cindy, Gary, Nathalie, Dr. Lajozerowicz and the many CLSC professionals who made it possible for Keith to remain in his beloved home until his passing. Predeceased by his parents, Archie and Dorothy Martin, and his wife, Heather Stirling. While Keith had a traditional childhood in Ottawa, his adult life was far less conventional. He lived in London (UK) and Ireland, and traveled throughout Europe, India, Turkey, and Morocco. When Keith returned to Canada, he made his home in the Wakefield area, where he lived for 30+ years until his passing. Without a doubt, Keith led his life, marching to the beat of his own drum. In view of COVID, there will be no service. However, his ashes will be scattered in the Gatineau River at a later date, with a small amount reserved to sprinkle on the resting place of his pet turtle, Mr. Natural. For those who wish, a donation to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated.

I am very saddened by Keith's passing. We worked together at Stats Can and he was a joy to be around. His intelligence and approach to our work always impressed me. He also was a great story teller and fun to be around. RIP Keith. Thoughts of you will always bring a smile to my face.
