My sympathy’s to the family
It is with with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathleen “Kay” Nitschkie. Peacefully on March 6, 2024, at the age of 101. Predeceased by her husband Elmer, son Norman, parents Reynold and Lily (née Attaway). Mother of Ronald (Catherine), Fay (late Robert and late Patrick), Mark (Ginette) and Wade (Kim). She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.
Originally from Ottawa, Kathleen, along with her husband Elmer, raised their family in the small village of Denholm QC. Having grown up with four brothers, she wasn’t afraid of hard work so it was no surprise that she, along with her husband, built houses for a living. They also enjoyed many hobbies like hunting and fishing with their family, with those same skills being passed on to her children and grandchildren. She loved to read, knit and crochet but her favourite pastime was playing cards. As many can attest, she could get overzealous at times. She also volunteered at the Poltimore Protestant Church, helping out with picnics and activities.
Her family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Centre du Bonheur (Lionel Émond) for their compassionate and exceptional care and treating her with dignity.
The funeral service and cemetery ceremony will be held at Poltimore Christ Church (27, chemin du Pont, Val-des-Monts QC) on May 11th at 11 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at the Denholm Municipal Hall (419, chemin Poisson-Blanc, Denholm QC).
