It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Raymond Morrison Aka as Big John or Papa John of Kirkland Lake, ON on November 24th, 2023 at the age of 69.
John was born April 20th 1954 in New Castle, New Brunswick. John lived many places during his life, most notably Virginiatown, New Liskeard, and Tabusintac, NB where he called home. He was an avid fisherman who loved the water, when he wasn't fishing he was spending time with his family. John spent his most recent years as a Cab driver for Co-Op Taxi, where he used his "Gift of Gab" to make friends throughout the community. Big John will be remembered for his big personality and sense of humor.
He leaves behind his wife Chantel Morrison, Son Shawn(Raymonde) Morrison, Daughters Trisha (D'arcy) Cote, Stephonie (Aaron) Coumbs and Samantha Morrison(Jean).
He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Jessica(Eric), Savannah(Justin) Dawson(Abigail), Anthony, Savanah(Jesse) Damian(Eryn) Liam, Emery and Aurora as well as his great-grandchildren Cameron, Hannah, Edmond, Amiley and a new baby girl Due in February. His Brother Stephen(Jeannine) Morrison Sister-in-Law Fran Deschamps, Mother-in-Law Sylvia Deschamps. His Nieces Kayla(James) and Shannon(Chris), his Nephews, Shawn, Anthony, Scott(Ashley), AJ and Andrew(Tanika). And numerous great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his Mother Maude Steen, his Father Jerry Morrison, sister Martha Steen, Father-in-Law Romeo Deschamps, his nephew Klaus Campbell and his grandson Junior.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative, (formerly French Family Funeral Home) 111 Burnside Dr. in Kirkland Lake, Ontario on Dec 5th, 2023 from 2-4pm. Anyone wanting for come share stories and say goodbye are welcome.
