St-Laurent, Jeanne

ST-LAURENT, Jeanne

1929 - 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jeanne St-Laurent, who left us on Monday, November 25, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. In her 96th year, she was the beloved wife of the late Donald Johnson and the dear daughter of the late Dolorosa Veilleux and the late Irénée St-Laurent.

A kind and loving woman, she leaves behind her children:  Patricia (Steven Patrick), Ann, David, Jill (John Laberee), Kim, Wendy (Steven Rowe), James (Geneviève April); her grandchildren: Chelsea (Adrien Gagneur), Paula (John Bennett), and Adam Laberee (Jennifer Little), Anastasia (Keven Barrette), and Tristan Johnson, Melissa (Kyle Handy), and Hannah Rowe; and her great-grandchildren: Clara and Lily Bennett, and Kaiden Laberee.

She also leaves to mourn her brothers and sisters: the late Lucien (Claudette), the late Georges (the late Denise), the late Pauline (the late Guy, the late Clarence), the late Odette (the late Maurice), Gérard (the late Fernande), the late Guy (the late Émilia, Thelma), the late Robert (the late Elizabeth), the late Roger (Paulette), the late Jocelyne (the late Michel), Raymond (Linda), and Ginette (the late Douglas). She is survived by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and numerous friends.

Jeanne St-Laurent was an endless source of strength and determination. Her life, marked by her dedication to her family and her generous spirit toward everyone she encountered, will remain forever etched in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.

The family will receive condolences at St. Patrick’s Church, 20 Gordon Street in Sherbrooke, on Saturday, December 7, 2024 between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the team at the Hôtel Dieu Hospital for their attentive care and compassionate support offered in her final moments.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made through donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  Rest in peace, dear Mom.

Jeanne's loving family

The years that I worked with Jeanne on 4th floor were some of the best times ever! We laughed, cried, leaned on each other and she was always there when I needed motherly advice and I appreciated it so much. I loved her laugh. Oh, how she loved all of you so much. You were very lucky to have had her with you so long. I have wonderful memories that will keep her in my heart forever. Love to you all and am sending you my deepest sympathy on for the loss of a very special lady.
