Danielle and family and J.P.’ Brother’s family as well.
My condolences to you all. You will miss him terribly, but just think of all the good memories you still have to remember him by. I know what your all going through, but it gets better with time. You will remember the good times, and smile and laugh again.
We will also miss seeing him at the cottage which he loved so much, but we will remember he is in a better place now.

Tante Danielle, Renée et Martin et la famille à mon oncle JP
Mes sincères sympathies et condoléances. I am thinking of you and sending you lots of love during this difficult time. I cherish my memories of oncle JP. I will forever see him sitting on the cottage porch or in his Adirondack chair by the lake and can still hear him « jokingly » call my name in the distance. I will miss you mon oncle. Thank you for the memories! Lots of love ❤️ .

Danielle and your family
I am so very sorry to hear of his passing. He taught me at Thomas D’Arcy McGee way back when…and then it was I who took his special needs class over when he retired…I’ll never forget as he put on his backpack and took one last look around his classroom and said…
”I’m done here…Good Luck…I’m going to the cottage” and walked out the back door.
I watched him go as he had a happy step in his pace…and I thought to myself…that will be me one day! Farewell Mr. Meunier…you were a good man!

Dear Danielle and family,
J.P. was a valued colleague, much respected, much loved by all. His distinctive voice and expansive persona defined the person he was. A joy to have known him and worked with him.
This wonderful foto of J.P. captures his delightful sense of mischief.
Very sad news to learn of J.P.s untimely passing. We send our most sincere condolences to you, the family, & his many friends.
In sympathy,
Paul Schaub & Gerard Lavelle

Saddened to hear of the passing of ‘Mr Meunier’. As a shy Grade 6 student, who arrived at TDMcGee halfway through the year in late 1972, Mr. Meunier’s kindness & support made my transition to a new city & a new school so much easier. His love of teaching was in full evidence & we all loved his quick laughter & positive outlook ❤️ God bless!

I very much enjoyed working with JP for 5 years at T.D. McGee. He was most skillful and understanding of students with special needs, especially those with challenging behaviour problems. JP assumed big portfolios such as student busing. My job as principal was was made so much easier with such a competent assistant.

Sincere sympathy to you on the loss of JP.
I had the privilege of working with JP at TDM from 1978-86. There are so many wonderful memories of him including his welcoming smile, his infectious laugh, his willingness to listen and to give sage advice. His office door was always open. He was my first encounter with Bonhomme and the TDM winter carnival.
JP was our oldest son’s grade 4 teacher. Rob’s quote: ‘always fondly remember Friday afternoon reads, sometimes Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books or similar imaginative reads. He was my first male teacher.’
I am thankful that at the 50th anniversary of TDM we had a chance to reminisce and share good remembrances with JP.
May you too be consoled by happy remembrances.

I spent many years (20+) teaching with JP. To say he was one of the best is an understatement. His ability to connect with his Special Ed students was remarkable. Not only the students but the parents too. I remember him coming in for a 6:00am interview because of the work hours of one set of parents. He was so grounded, had SO much common sense and didn't suffer fools. That, to me, was his gift and the reason he was such a good teacher. And let's not forget that wicked sense of humour! Oh my. If I say the word "cheese", many of you will know exactly what I mean.
Mr. Moonie, I will miss you so much and I thank you for the many wonderful memories!

I was shocked to hear about J.P.'s passing recently at a luncheon for Retired Teachers. I extend to you all ,my sincere condolences on his loss. I was J.P.'s colleague at Thomas D'Arcy McGee from 1975-1988. He had such a jovial personality and kids just loved him. He arrived very early each morning and would greet teachers as they walked inside the front door. He would take notice of my jewellery and crack a joke about Mrs. P. as I entered! It was so hilarious when I received a specially wrapped gift of fake jewellery sent via school board pony to St.Francis of Assisi school in Orleans, the schooI I had transferred to,reminding me of the good old days at T.D.M. I had the good fortune of meeting J.P. again in May 2019 for the 50th anniversary celebration of T.D. McGee.His vibrant personality and penchant for jokes was intact. We had a long chat recalling the fun filled years we shared at T.D.M. May J.P. find eternal rest in the arms of Jesus, I pray.
