The Roy family wishes
to inform you of the passing of
Mr. Jean-Paul Roy
February 11, 1930 - July 5, 2019
Who, at the age of 89 years old, suddenly passed away early in the morning of Friday July 5th. Born in Montreal, he was the youngest son of Marie Lévesque and Ovide Roy and predeceased by his beloved wife Simone Baillargeon (2012) and by several brothers and sisters.
He passed away at the Old Port of Montreal at the end of a cruise on the river of his childhood with his companion Mrs. Françoise Delage (born Gaulin). He also leaves behind his two sisters: Mrs. Gisèle Simard and Mrs. Dolorès Dunn; his three children: Carole Roy (Jean Toupin), Louis Roy (Mary-Louise MacKinnon) and Julie Roy (Peter Murphy); his grandchildren: Stéfanie and Pascale Toupin, Christine and Teresa MacKinnon-Roy, and Jean-Louis, Pierre-Michel and Frédéric Murphy. He joyfulle knew four great-grandchildren: Claire, Jeanne, Renaud and Laurent. He also leaves a warm imprint on Françoise's family, who also appreciated his kindness and cheerfulness for life.
The celebration of prayers will be held at the COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L'OUTAOUAIS, 1369, La Vérendrye O. Blvd, in Gatineau, on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 2 pm. Family will be receiving condolences as of 1:30 pm .
The family also wishes to thank the medical staff of the boat and the employees of the Old Port of Montreal for their help and support on Friday, July 5th. and ask that you abstain from sending flowers, but instead a donation to La maison Mathieu Froment-Savoie in Gatineau or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in his memory would be appreciated.
