GAGNON, Jacqueline

1946 - 2025

It is with serenity that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Gagnon, on April 8 at the Hull hospital at the age of 79. She passed away surrounded by her daughter Chrystianne Pilon of Val-des-Monts and her son Jean-Charles Pilon of Hull.
Jacqueline was born on March 2, 1946 in New Liskeard in French-speaking northern Ontario. She studied at the University of Ottawa's Normal School, then married the father of her children, Gaëtan Pilon, on December 19, 1970 in Ottawa. Before giving birth to her first child in 1972, Jacqueline taught mathematics to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Jacqueline and Gaëtan raised their two children in Winnipeg and Quebec City. Following their amicable separation in 1984, Jacqueline shared her life with the late Jean-Louis Giroux for almost 10 years. She eventually returned to care for her mother in New Liskeard for a few years before returning to the Ottawa-Gatineau region, where in 2010 she successfully completed a bachelor's degree in translation at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. She was 64 years old and very proud of it! Jacqueline showed great resilience in her life and was able to pass on to her children the importance of taking life with a sense of humour, even in her final moments in hospital. Jacqueline will be remembered for her smile, her beautiful humanity and her ability to make people feel important in her presence. She was a welcoming and caring person to others.
In addition to her many friends at Jardin Notre-Dame in Hull, her good friend Michèle Vinet, her son-in-law Jean-Pierre de Beaumont and his family, and the Pilon family, Jacqueline is survived by her sister Thérèse Gagnon, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Yvette Labelle and her father Ulric Gagnon, her brothers Jean-Guy, twins André and Gérard, Gabriel “Gaby” and Marcel.
There will be no ceremony, Chrystianne and Jean-Charles having opted instead for privacy. Messages of condolence can be sent to http://www.cfo.coop.

Chrystiane

Quelle maman extraordinaire tu as eue.
