Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at the age of 88. Cherished husband of Nellie Buzzell for 66 years. Loving son of the late John Hudson and the late Annie Leadbeater. Precious father of: Sheila (deceased), Marlayne (Albert Boucher), Shaun and David ( Mary Ellen Ruck); Herbie will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Pierre-Gilles Gauvin, David-Andrew Gauvin, Jennifer, Tyler, Andrew, Kiel, and Michael Hudson, Brittany and Mathew Carey; his great-granddaughter Kayleigh Gauvin, along with his brothers and sisters: Irene Woodard (the late Bernie), Esther Buckland (the late Raymond), Tilly Gibson (the late Gibby), Catherine (Cassey) (the late Sylva Perreault), Dorothy (Dot) Doyle (Wilton), Thomas (Tommy) Hudson (Lillian Burnham), and Frederick (Fred); brother and sisters-in-law: Glenna Buzzell (George Corbiere), Shirley Buzzell (the late Donald Hope), the late Niel Buzzell (Roma Bonnallie); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 900 Clough, Ayer’s Cliff 819-876-5213/www.casshomes.ca on Friday, April 8, 2011, where friends may visit from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Legion service at 7:00 p.m. .A funeral service will be held in St. George Anglican church in Ayer’s Cliff on Saturday, at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Barbara Wintle and Reverend Frederick Richardson officiating. Interment will take place in the Cherry River Cemetery at a later date. Herbie served in WW2 with the first Hussars of London, Ontario, and saw duty in England, France, Holland and Belgium. He stayed very active with the veterans in the Legion Branch 128, He was very socially active with the music groups, the snow Shoe Club and the Camper’s Association. The family wishes to express their most sincere thanks to Doctors Annie Beaudoin and Dr. Menard of Hotel-Dieu and also the CLSC Memphremagog and Dr. Robert Cloutier for the wonderful home care given to Herbie.
