Passed away on July 21st in Stanstead ,Quebec at the age of 89. Helen was born in New Brunswick on January 15th, 1920, daughter of the late Charles and Grace Hepburn of Beebe who were very prominent in the granite business in the early twentieth century. Following her marriage to the late Clarence Guy Colt, they took up residence on Campbell Street in Beebe where she remained a lifelong resident. As an enthusiastic member of the Dufferin Heights Golf Club and Beebe Curling Club, Helen was an avid competitor and could always be counted upon to contribute her energy and enthusiasm for any tournament or social event. She also enjoyed the services and happily giving hours of contribution to many worthy endeavours at the All Saints Anglican Church in Stanstead. She was thrilled to meet many of her family members in New Brunswick and especially was fond of her niece Ann in British Columbia with whom she maintained a close relationship throughout her later years. Helen experienced many health challenges over the past few years and met them with courage, dignity and her own unique sense of humour. She moved to the White House in Stanstead in 2007 where she enjoyed renewing old friendships as well as making new ones. Helen’s family is grateful for the caring, kind and compassionate care provided by the Anglican Auxiliary with whom she shared many wonderful memories. She is survived by her son Charles of Beebe. daughter Judy and son-in-law Al Tweedie of Dana Point, California, son Robert and daughter –in-law Mary of Parksville, B.C.. She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren Sarah and Blake, Scott and Cristin, as well as her great-grandchildren Sabine and Lennon. She was sadly predeceased by her loving daughter-in-law in 1991, Sharon Colt. There will be visitation in the presence of her ashes at the Cass Funeral Home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead 819-876-5213 on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, where friends may visit from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.. A memorial service will be held in Christ Church , 550 Dufferin, Stanstead, on Wednesday, July 29th at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Barbara Wintle officiating. As a tribute to her memory, donations made to Christ Church, c/o Thelma Middleton, 13 Stanley, Stanstead, Qc. JOB 3E0 would be greatly appreciated by the family. Interment will take place in Crystal Lake Cemetery.
