JOHNSTON, Hazel

1938 - 2023

Hazel was born June 15, 1938 in Melbourne, QC. She passed away peacefully on May 6th at the Wales Home with her four great-nieces by her side.

Hazel was the daughter of the late Sydney Johnston and the late Myrtle Fee, and brother to Kenneth Johnston (Dorothy). Her sisters Jessie and Linda Johnston and her nephews Garry and Kevin Johnston predeceased her. Hazel leaves behind many family and friends.

Hazel was a kind, thoughtful, hard-working woman and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A heartfelt thank-you to the staff of Norton 1 for the wonderful care Hazel received.

In lieu of cards or flowers, donations to the Wales Home would be greatly appreciated.

There will be no visitation. A private graveside burial will take place at a later date.

Hazel Johnston's Family

I wish to convey my sincere sympathy to Hazel's family. Hazel taught at O'Sullivan's Business College in Sherbrooke where my sister and I attended. She was soft-spoken, kind and enjoyed a good laugh. She taught us well and I know many others benefitted from her teaching ability. May fond memories live on in your hearts.

Time passes so quickly. I so appreciate all the time she gave me when I came back East and the visits she made to Mom and Dad's once they moved out West. She and the rest of your family have always been a constant in my life. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My sympathies on the passing of Miss Johnston as we students knew her. I had the pleasure of chatting with her at an RRHS reunion about 20 years ago and let her know that the skills she taught us had been the most useful of my career. Her kind firmness was rare. RIP Miss Johnston.
