AZZIE, Gaby

Peacefully, on Feb 25th, 2024, Gabriel (Gaby) Azzie passed away at age 83.  Since coming to Canada in 1964, Gaby was known by the Ottawa business community as "the window guy," the man behind Gabys Glass.  He was involved in many glass/construction projects in the city, notably the Rideau Center walkway and the parking lot tunnel/walkway at the then Palladium.  It would also be nothing for him to get up at crazy hours of the night to go and repair a broken glass from a break-in.  LCBO, among others, had him on speed dial.  He would often get there before the police did.

Gaby loved people, especially children.  He loved to make them laugh!  He would stop anything he was doing to entertain them.  He would laugh with them so hard that it would take his breath away.  

Everyone loved and respected Gaby!  With his wife Tilly at his side, he was always a hit at a family gathering or party.

A special thank you to Dr Gil and the wonderful staff at Montfort Rivera Long Term Care Facility.

 Interment of ashes followed by celebration of life to be held Friday, March 8th, at 11 am, at Paroisse St Joseph, 2757 St Joseph Blvd, in Orleans.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Parkinsons association.
