IGNACZ, Erno "Ernie"

1938 - 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Erno Ignacz on April 22nd, 2021, in Kirkland Lake.

Erno is predeceased by his parents; John & Mary Ignacz, as well as his brother, John Ignacz.

Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Ignacz. He is also survived by his sisters; Mary Potar and Shersa Melosa, both of Hungary.

Erno started in the coal mine at the age of 15. When he turned 19 years old in 1957, he came to start his life in Canada. He started at Lakeshore Mine, then moved on to Upper Canada Mine, then finally to Macassa Mine, from which he would retire some years later. During this time, he met his wife Barbara and they married in June of 1967, spending over 53 years of their lives together.

A private service will be held in Erno's honour. He will be laid to rest at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery.
