CAMPBELL, Elizabeth "Betty"

1948 - 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Elizabeth Evelyn Campbell (nee Goulden) at the age of 74. She passed away as she lived, with grace and style at the Blanche River Health Kirkland Lake Site on Sunday, August 28th, 2022.

Betty was predeceased by her parents John and Florence Goulden and brothers Clifford and Tom. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roy Campbell and her daughters Barbara Richard (Albert), Brenda Hansen (Peter Lee), and Mary Campbell (Brad Morin). Nana to Brandon, Nicholas, Druscilla, Tristian, Arrionna, and Violet, also Great Nana to Hailey, Thorun, Emily as well as honorary Nana to Abigail. She is also survived by her siblings Don Goulden (Anita), Pat Gemus, Ron Goulden (Lynda), and Danny Goulden (Michelle), sisters- in- law Clara Goulden and Pat Goulden and 7 nieces and 5 nephews.

Betty was born in Guelph, Ontario in 1948 and in 1958 her family moved to the farm in Otto Township. She had a love for all animals. She met and married her soul mate Roy in 1972, celebrating 50 years in April of this year.

During her lengthy illness she always had a smile on her face and was the light and life of everyone she touched. With her wildly colored hair flying in the wind, she loved racing through town on her Scooter. She and her granddaughter Arrionna would plan what wild hair colors she would be sporting next.

She liked it when people visited and they could have a conversation and since she can no longer be part of the conversation, there will be no visitation or funeral as per Betty's wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Betty directed to the Liver foundation of Canada would be appreciated.

We would like to thank the awesome staff at the Kirkland Hospital. Big thanks to Betty Smallwood for your kindness and direction during this challenging time.

Roy, we are sure you will feel her loss deeply and we will keep you in our prayers as you go through this time of grief and sadness. We will miss seeing Betty on Zoom occasionally at the Hall, and about town. We agree that those hair colours were fantastic! To the whole Campbell family, Sarah and I wish to share our sincere condolences.

Mr Campbell and Family

I loved your parents from the first time they stepped into Dr Dan's office. We lost a true light in this world.
I have no doubt she will be the brightest star ( a different color every night) in the night sky.

Mary, Tristian, Arrionna, and Family

So sorry to learn of the passing of your Mother and Grandmother... I can only image the loss you feel and the emptiness her passing leaves in your lives. I am confident that her immense light and zest for Life will not soon be forgotten. And that her spiritual presence will surely be with you each as you adjust to life without her physical presence. May you be sustained by your love for each other. And may her memory be an enduring Blessing... And her light continue to illumine your lives... With sincere condolences, Gordon Stonehouse
