Douglas Carswell passed peacefully at the Salvation Army Grace Manor on January 9, 2025 at the age of 93. He was predeceased by his sons Mark (Anna) of Almonte and Glen (Lea) of Ottawa. He was the husband for 42 years of Suzanne Lanouette-Carswell and father to Margret Bercovitch of Ottawa and Rebecca Walter of Kenora. Grandfather to Allen Carswell, Douglas Carswell, Emily Francis, Cory Bercovitch, Leah Bercovitch and Finlay Walter and great grandfather to Poppy Carswell and Odin Francis.

Visitation will take place from 1:00-2:00 pm followed by a memorial service and reception on February 5, 2025 at the Funeral Co-Op of Ottawa at 419 St. Laurent Blvd. (additional parking will be available at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church). Interment of the ashes will take place in the spring at the Mayhew Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Thamesville, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Grace Manor Ottawa www.gracemanor.ca.
