Peacefully at the Wales Home, Richmond , Dorothy May Lockwood passed away following a brief illness, in her 103rd year. Loved wife of the late Harold M. Lockwood , Dorothy is survived by her children David (Pickle Lake ON), Virginia (Ralph) Burt (Perth ON) and Andy (Darlene) (Ottawa ON). Grandmother to Lisa (John) Morison, Kimberly (Jim) Hambleton, Thomas (Crystal) Lockwood, Patricia Burt and Stephen (Sylvia) Burt. Also survived by seven great-grandchildren. Dorothy, born in Beverly, Massachusetts, was the only child of the late David McNeill and the late Mary O'Neil. She migrated to Canada in her early 20's to live with her cousin and best friend, Doris McNeill Olney in Montreal. After her marriage , Dorothy became a long time resident of Drummondville and was very active in St. George's Anglican Church.Dorothy spent her last years as a resident of the Wales Home where she received loving care from their wonderful staff. Special thanks to Pam Brock for all that she did for Dorothy. The family also thank Ann and the late Ron Belden for all their many acts of love and kindness. Visitation will be at 1pm March 16th in the Church of St. Agustine , Danville followed by the funeral service at 2pm. with the Rev. Wanda Dillabough officiating. Reception to follow in the Church hall. Donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to The Wales Home Foundation ; St Georges Church, Drummondville or the Danville Protestant Cemetery, and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
