It is with shock and sadness that I read the passing of Donna Nitschkie. Did not know her long but she was an FB friend of mine and we enjoyed some fun conversations. From a friend in Australia.

My sympathies to all of Donna's family and friends on her unexpected passing at only 62. She will be truly missed by her Christ Church Poltimore family and remembered fondly for her willingness to pitch in whenever needed. Rest in peace Donna.

I extend my deepest condolences to Donna's family. I had the pleasure to work many years with Donna at SVH. Donna was a very caring, devoted nurse and on the other hand she was full of pranks and jokes she loved to share with her colleagues. May you RIP Donna.

To Donna's family
My deepest sympathy to Donna's family. Donna was a pleasure to work with on 5B. Many memorable fun evening shifts with Donna especially dressing our fellows up for Hallowe'en. Donna's imagination to fashion a turtle shell out of garbage can lid and create the rest of Ninja Turtle costume was awesome. So much enjoyment was had that night by all who attended the party. Christmas was a special time that Donna shared and was always ready to contribute Christmas gifts for any resident with no family and even those with family. The residents were treated with care, compassion and fun which Donna excelled at.
She was a special nurse whose residents and fellow team mates benefitted from being around her. Continue spreading the fun.

I knew Donna as we went to the same high school. She was always smiling and kind then, and when I met her again when you got married, she was the same kind and gentle person. It was not a surprise that she went into the nursing profession. I was extremely saddened upon hearing of her unexpected death and feel it as such a deep loss for you and your family. My thoughts are with you.

I met Donna in August 1978 on our first day of nursing school at Heritage. We were from rival high-schools. From then we became inseparable. Donna became honorary Aunt " Naw" to my daughters. Donna took part in our family celebrations. She was an incredible prankster, going as far as sneaking into my house and creating an obstacle course of 32 pumpkins. She sure knew how to have fun. I miss her dearly , I always will.
