ETHIER, Denis (1955-2023)
It is with great sadness that Denis Laurent Ethier passed away peacefully on May 18, 2023.
Denis was born in North Bay on April 25, 1955. A son to Alphège and Célina (née Quinn). He married the love of his life, Rachel (née Cloutier) on July 1, 1978, in Judge Twp. Together they lived an adventurous life and raised two children. They were happily married for 40 years until her death in 2018. He missed her terribly.
In his lifetime, Denis worked at Cashway, Sherman Mine and retired his career at Rona as an estimator/detailer for contractors. He is well remembered in the community.
He loved to work with his hands, whether it was building camps, fishing, or learning a new song on the guitar. He always loved spending time with family aside a campfire.
Denis will be remembered for his friendly, easy-going nature, his generosity to help and his way to make the best out of any situation. He always greeted everyone with a smile. He was a devoted husband, most loving father, and grandfather.
Mr. Ethier is survived by two of his children: David Ethier and Stéphanie (Jason) Leis. He will be missed by 3 grandchildren: Benjamin, Sélina and Abner. He is also remembered by his brothers: Guy and Roger, his nephews and nieces, and many other family members and friends.
Denis was predeceased by his beloved wife Rachel, his parents, and his siblings: Gilles, Nichole and Robert.
The family will welcome friends and family at the Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative – Perrin Chapel (128 Whitewood Ave. New Liskeard, ON) on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
