Famille Brunet
Mes sincères condoléances suite au décès de Denis mon confrère Richelieu de longue date.
Denis Brunet
1941-2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Denis Brunet, 82 years of age, on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Le Pavillon d'Embrun seniors' residence.
Born on April 13, 1941 in Saint-Pascal-Baylon, he was the only son of the late Reine-Aimée Brunet (Martin) and the late Aldas Brunet. He was the widower of Aline Fortier of Embrun.
He is survived by his two godchildren Luc Fortier (Cindy Maxsom) and François Millette (Marie-Claude Desforges).
He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, several cousins, nephews and nieces and many friends.
Denis spent his entire career with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). At the same time, he had a very busy volunteer life. For example, he was a director of the Caisse populaire d'Embrun, of which he was president, and it was under his governance that the Caisse's head office was built on Notre-Dame Street. A proud Franco-Ontarian, he was an active member of the Club Richelieu d'Embrun, of which he was president for several years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet the family at St. James Church, Embrun, 1041 Notre Dame Street, Embrun, Ontario, on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass which will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation ( www.ottawacancer.ca ).
Our gratitude goes to Dr. Jacques Brunet for the high quality of care he provided to Denis over the years. Our thanks also go to the staff of Le Pavillon and Fleur-Ange for their good care of Denis and all the attention, small and large, that they gave him.
The burial of the ashes will take place after the funeral in the Embrun cemetery.
