to Daniel ‘s family and friends.
I am so sorry for your loss. I grew up with Danny and Mario in Montebello until they moved to Gatineau where we visited them. We often played together at the house next to the garage in Montebello and over at my house. I remember kayaking and cross-country skiing with his family at the parc in Plaisance. Danny was in my year at school. We were born a few days apart. Sometimes the teachers didn’t know what to do with all of his energy. That’s okay. He learned all kinds of stuff due to his own curious mind and perseverance.
He often came back to Montebello to visit my parents even when I was away. My Mom had a special place for him in her heart and I think that he knew it. He was always tinkering with things. He once took apart the family stereo while my parents were out in the garden because he wanted to fix the buzz in the volume. He was right, the buzz was annoying. When my parents came in for a meal, the receiver was in pieces on the dining room table. Danny had a good heart. He brought my folks another stereo to use until he could put the other receiver back together without the annoying buzz. But, he’d fixed it! Seems to me that that’s what he really liked was fixing things. He loved taking things apart to see how they worked.
When I came to stay at the house here, he’d often stop by for a chat w(en he’d drive to Montebello for old time’s sake. I hadn’t seen him for a few years now. We lost touch.
My sincere condolences for your loss. His uniqueness will be missed.
