LONG, Charles

1950 - 2024

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Charles “Charley” Long who died peacefully on June 21, 2024, at the age of 74.

Charley will be deeply missed by his wife Hilary (nee Turner-Davis) of 46 years; children Adam (Jenna), Andrew (Laura) and Joanna (Yoann); grandchildren Thomas, Ryan, Adelyn, Nyla and Quinn; his brother John (Barbara) and sister Margaret.

He is predeceased by his father, Samuel and his mother Bertha (Foley).

Charley will be remembered for how fiercely he loved his family, taking care of the farm, being one with nature, especially while vacationing in the Keys and Algonquin Park and of course for his storytelling and hilarious sense of humour.

A funeral service in honour of Charley will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Columban Mission located at 311 Chemin Saint-Columban in Gatineau. The family will receive condolences as of 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, we would be honoured if donations would be directed to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the CHSLD Champlain in Gatineau for all their care and compassion.

Online condolences may be made via www.cfo.coop

Joanna and her loved ones

Thinking of you and your family. Charles was a ray of sun, although I only met him a couple times I can see you got your great sense of humour from him. Your dad was a special person and he will be well remembered.
