DURRANT, Bruce Gavin

1948 - 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Gavin Durrant, after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Surrounded by his wife Wendy, and his sons, Michael (Marita) and Christopher, Bruce departed this world on July 11, 2024 at the CHUS Fleurimont in Sherbrooke.

Bruce was born in December 1948 in Three Rivers, QC to Henry Durrant and Myrtle Monteith and as younger brother to Myrna, Robert, Diane, and John. He was a beloved grandfather to Orianna and Caeden, and was dear to his nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bruce will be remembered as an active Mason, for his more than 30 years as an educator at Alexander Galt Regional High School, and as the entrepreneur behind Lennoxville’s Baril de Vin. Most importantly, he leaves a legacy of kindness, generosity, and community service.

Condolences will be received on Friday, July 26 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m at the Cass Funeral Home, located at 3006 College St, Sherbrooke. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 27th at 2pm followed by a reception. The funeral and reception will take place at the Lennoxville United Church (6 Church Street, Sherbrooke).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the LAMPE Foundation (https://lampefoundation.org/).
