ALDOUS BOWKER, Audrey Mabel

1930 - 2025

Audrey Mabel Bowker (née Aldous)

April 13, 1930 – January 14, 2025

It is with a combination of deep sadness and joy that the Bowker family shares the passing of our beloved mother- grandmother-aunt Audrey Bowker (née Aldous) in her 95th year on January 14 at Grace Village; sadness at the loss of such an incredibly loving, caring and generous person, and joy for her that she has rejoined our dad Gordon Bowker after 70 years of marriage in this life, and her daughter/our sister Joanne who we lost 45 years ago. The family expresses deep gratitude and thanks for the extraordinary loving care provided to our Mom and Dad by the wonderful staff at Grace Village.

A native of Oshawa, Ontario who moved to Sawyerville in 1954 when she married Gordon, Audrey graduated as an RN in 1951 from the Oshawa General Hospital School of Nursing. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon in November of 2024, her brother Ron in 2001, and her daughter Joanne in 1980. She leaves behind, with countless cherished memories of our wonderful Mom, her surviving children Doug (Sharon), Steven (Suzanne), Nancy (Bill) and Jeffrey (Carolyn), as well as 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren who adored their loving Grandma.

Audrey also leaves behind a legacy of caring for and selflessly serving thousands of guests in her home, friends and neighbours whenever help was needed, and her Sawyerville Baptist church family where she served as pianist, organist, Sunday School teacher and hostess for over 6 decades. She enriched the lives of everyone she touched.

Visitation will on January 18 from 1:00-3:00PM at the Sawyerville Baptist Church, with the Celebration of Life service at the church immediately following at 3:00PM

Given Audrey’s 6-plus decades of service at her church and her love for supporting missionaries, in lieu of flowers the family suggests that you could consider a donation in her name to the Sawyerville Baptist Church Missions Fund, 33 rue Cookshire, Sawyerville, QC J0B 3A0
