ANTHONY (ANDY) BROWN STURTON OCTOBER 26 1926 – JANUARY 1 2010 With love, we remember our husband, father, and grandfather, Anthony Sturton, who passed away in hospital in St. Hyacinthe. Best friend and beloved husband of Irene Morrill for 54 years. Cherished father of Susan (Walt Daggett), Sandra (Rob Baron), Beverly (Dale Galway), Jennifer (Ted Reinhardt), and Timothy. Dear grampa of Tricia (Bret Woz), Jennifer (Adam Wolford), David, Thomas, Katy, and Laura. Predeceased by his parents Anthony and Bertha Sturton. Sadly missed by his brother Colin (Arlene), his sisters Mary, Louise (Les Durling), and Elinor, and his many nieces and nephews. Andy was born and raised in Quebec City. He graduated from the University of Toronto in 1948 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Andy married Irene in 1955 and they moved to Mont St. Hilaire where he lived until his death. He was a loving and dedicated husband and father. He was well-known in the area of power systems engineering, and had a lengthy career working throughout Canada and internationally. In 2005, he received the A.G.L. McNaughton Gold Medal from the IEEE in recognition of his contributions to electrical engineering. Andy continued to work, travel, teach, and mentor into his 80s. The family would like to thank the seventh floor staff of the Honoré-Mercier Hospital and the staff of the CLSC des Patriotes, both of whom provided exceptional care. Visitation will be Friday January 8th 2 - 5 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at his residence in Mont. St. Hilaire, Quebec. Visitation also from 1 - 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 9th at St. Thomas Anglican Church, 51 rang de la Montagne in Rougemont, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at the Danville Protestant Cemetery in the spring.
