Biggs, Wayne

BIGGS, Wayne

1947 - 2024

Wayne George Thomas Biggs age 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 28, 2024 at Hotel Dieu Palliative Care in Sherbrooke after a brave battle with lung cancer.  On April 2, 1977 Wayne married Patsy Gunter at the United Church in South Durham, which brought them 47 years of marriage at his time of passing.

They raised two children, their daughter Heather (Mark) and son Mark.  Wayne is predeceased by his parents Douglas Biggs and Gladys Lancaster. Also predeceased by his father & mother-in-law Ernest Gunter and Dorothy Lester.  Wayne is survived by his brothers Russell (Huguette) and Michael.  He is predeceased by his sisters Linda (Jean) Cynthia and "adopted" sister Diane.  He is also survived by his brother-in-law Russell (Audrey), sister-in-law Linda (Gordon) and predeceased by his sister-in-law June.  Wayne leaves behind several nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews.  He also leaves behind his "bonus" grandchildren Denon and Evony.

The family thanks the Palliative Care staff for their exceptional care for Wayne while he was there.  Wayne has left us many memories that we will forever cherish.  He was very passionate about going for walks in Gouin Park and telling stories of his wildlife sightings.

Visitations will be held at Cass Funeral Home, 295 Principal S. in Richmond on Thursday August 8 from 7-9pm and 1-2pm on Friday August 9 followed by a service at 2pm by Reverend Reg Jennings. The burial will follow at the St. Anne’s Cemetery.

The family asks for memorial donations to be made to the Palliative Care at Hotel Dieu Hospital at 580 Bowen Street in Sherbrooke.
