It is with extreme sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Wade McClinchey on Friday, July 8th, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife, family, and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Elmer McClinchey and Hermine (Chartrand) McClinchey. Wade is survived by his wife Cathy (Ginger) McClinchey, his children Lincoln (Linda), Angela (Dave), Lee Ann (Leon). “Papa Wade” will be missed by his grandchildren (Alexis, Braden, Tristen, Camrin, Chloe, Noah, and Liam) and his great grandson Owen who Wade called “the star of the show”.

Wade came from a large family and will be missed by his siblings, Bert (predeceased by Noleen), Mary/Maisie (predeceased by Bob Laflamme), predeceased by Jim (Barb), Edgar (Marilyn), predeceased by Jack (Bertha), Bob (Rose), Eric (Jacquie), predeceased by Perry.

Wade worked at Ontario Hydro (Hydro One) for 30 years. He loved being outdoors with his dogs (Sarah and Sheila) hunting, fishing, ATVing, and trapping.

Wade enjoyed spending countless hours with his extended Sesekinika family and “Mom & Dad Mattice” in Muskoka. To quote a Ses family friend “He was such an icon, we lost a leader, hero and a true friend”.

Thank you to the amazing staff and workers from CCAC, Closing the Gap, Extendicare, TPR, and caregiver Marg Baker for their kindness and professionalism while caring for Wade. The family would also like to thank Dr. Moore for her support and understanding while caring for Wade.

As per Wade’s wishes, there will be no service. A private celebration of life for immediate family will be held at a later date. For those who wish to donate in Wade’s memory, a donation to Sesekinika Lake Property Owner’s Association would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be e-transferred to: sesekinikarocks@gmail.com (please mention in the comments that it is a donation made in memory of Wade McClinchey).

To the McClinchey family. My deepest condolences to all who loved Wade. A great friend. An awesome sense of humour. He will be remembered by many of his extended Sesekinika family as someone who had an ucommon sense of direction in the bush on all the countless atv and snowmobile tours that we did. I always had a really warm feeling when Wade was in charge, because there was never any question about finding our way home. We will miss you Wade.

Family and friends

Sorry to hear of Wades passing.

First thing that comes to mind for me is Wade's innate ability for story telling. On occasion, we spent time in the service truck together when on call and he would reflect on true life experiences that would leave me in stitches. He had a great sense of humor. I had the pleasure of working for Wade when he was the Customer service supervisor in Kirkland Lake and if you needed time off for family there were no questions asked, take all the time you need and he had you covered. Wade still remains the best boss I'll ever work for.

Our best to all that knew him,

So sorry to hear of Wade's passing, it's always hard to say goodbye. We have so many fond memories, Wade's sense of humour and his sense of direction while out in the middle of no where always amazed us. He sure loved the outdoors but he never hunted as long as we knew him because he respected nature, and just wanted to enjoy it. Wade was always smiling and willing to lend a hand to anyone. We have lost one of the most special people in our Sesekinika family. Please accept our condolences, Wade will always be in our hearts .
