SEGUIN, Vicki

Vicki Elaine Seguin (née Evans) born May 19, 1949 peacefully crossed the gates to Heaven on January 8, 2021 at 12:10 AM surrounded by her loved ones.

Vicki was born in Ottawa, Ontario but held a special place in her heart for her East Coast roots.  Vicki was a woman of great faith.  From a young age, she began her service with the United Church of Canada and continued until her passing recently demonstrated by her work with Grace United.  Vicki began her career at MetLife where she grew and evolved with the company until her retirement with Sun Life in 2007.  Over her career, she witnessed many changes, made a number of friends and enjoyed many adventures with the GM Admin & Claims Team.

Vicki applied compassion, generosity, love, joy and much faith to how she lived her life, especially when facing significant health issues, including a liver transplant in 2006.  She battled these all while maintaining her strength, courage and humour.

Predeceased by her parents Harry and Ruth Evans, she was the loving wife and best friend to Larry Seguin, kind loving mother to their children Jodi and Shawn, belle-mere to her beau-fils Jules Martineau and grandmother to Sarah, Justin and Jacob Martineau as well as Alexandre and Laura Malo.

Vicki enjoyed many summers at the cottage in the company of friends and family.  Her heart held a very special place for her Evans family: Sister Verna Evans, Karen Rennie, Chris Symonds, Mark Rennie and many family members from the Farmer and Fleming clans. Vicki leaves behind her husband’s family, including sister, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and many close cousins. She will be greatly missed by ALL who loved but as our guardian angel she will continue to be in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held on January 23, 2021 at 1 pm via ZOOM (see link below).  This will be an opportunity to share faith, pray for Vicki’s passing and share memories/stories to honor the life of a wife, mother, grandmother and most of ALL friend.

Vicki and I worked together many years and we shared many laughs as well as tears. Although we have not seen each other often since retirement I still considered Vicki one of my closest friends. Vicki was one of the most courageous people I know. Even with all the health issues she endured I never her saw her angry or feeling sorry for herself. She was always upbeat and optimistic about her future. Her foremost concern was always her family that she loved dearly.
