Grossinger, Theresa

GROSSINGER, Theresa

1947 - 2023

Theresa was born in Rouyn, Quebec to Gonzag Bellefeuille and Marie Dechene in 1947. After losing her  birth mother at a very young age, she was raised by her father and stepmother Hilda Keith in a blended
family of 9 children, George, Raymond, Stephen, Jim, Sylvia and Marie. Predeceased by Roger and  Marion.

Theresa married Real in August of 1965 and started their family shortly after. Theresa will always be  Real's “sunshine.”
She will be forever missed by her husband Real of 58 years and their 4 children, Norman, Bernice (Joe  Bisson), Tammy (Tom Drew-Brook) and Darlene (Peter Marinigh) and grandchildren Julian Grossinger,
Casey Rae, Ashley Grossinger, Emmerson Drew Brook. Also, step grandmother to Leah Marinigh (Mark Pearce) and Lauren Marinigh. Great grandmother to Laser Dobson-Rae and Theo Pearce. Many nieces  and nephews will always remember their Aunt Theresa.

Theresa took great pride in raising her children and had a close relationship with her grandchildren. Grandchildren and great grandchildren sure put a special sparkle in her eye. Always asking about them  and looking forward to a visit, phone call or card.
Over the years, her work was at home in Sesekinika. She raised their children, while managing the family  home and property, often taking on the role of Real's assistant in the garage.

As the children got older, her energy shifted to volunteering for the Sesekinika Volunteer Fire Department. She and her husband Real, donated land for the construction of a fire department, to  support their community. With the success of the fire department, she spent her time forwarding  reminder calls to volunteers for upcoming fire meetings and training, assisted with planning family fun  days, corn roasts, cleaning the hall and so much more.

Unfortunately, Theresa had to endure multiple health challenges throughout her adult life, and she did  so with great strength and courage. The last four years were the most challenging. As a family we
walked closely with her, we embraced everyday with her, days of hope, wellness, celebration, and so  much more. We chose not to live by a cancer stage or prognosis but rather focus solely on living one day at a time and without limits.

On behalf of Theresa and the entire family, we want to express our sincere gratitude to our family  members, friends, neighbors, and residents within the community that supported all of us. Special
thank you to her health care team for their care and dedicated service.
Dr. P. LePage, your knowledge, direction, support, and care for our mother was beyond what any family  could ask for. We will never have the words to express what that meant to all of us.

Grossinger Family

My prayers and sympathy go out to all Theresa’s loving family and close friends. Theresa will always be remembered to me as a sweet and kind person with a very soft spoken voice, who enjoyed what the bible had to say for the future. Death leaves an empty void in one’s sole, but wonderful memories will fill it, so keep them close to your heart. Real’s love for Theresa was strong and unwavering as there 58 years of marriage will contest to. Her children were her rock and she loved them with all her breath. Every drop of your tears are a sign of your love for her, so don’t hold them back. I will think of her fondly. So take care and stay strong through these hard times. Your friend Phyllis Cholette.

Mr. Grossinger, Darlene & family

Mr. Grossinger, Darlene & family…
Mrs. Grossinger (she’ll always be “Mrs. Grossinger” to me) had the sweetest heart & such a love & devotion for her family. I remember sleepovers with Darlene & girls when we were young & Mrs. Grossinger looked after all of us. She even drove me to & from Kenogami back in the mid ‘80’s so I could visit with Darlene & Tammy. Darlene & Tammy were some of my first friends when I arrived in Kenog in 1985; I’ll always be grateful to them too. Plus when I was older, it was always nice to chat with Mrs. Grossinger while Mr. Grossinger was working on fixing one of our vehicles & she was so comforting to me & my son when my Mom & then when my Dad passed away. It’s a great blessing to me that Mrs. Grossinger has been in my life since 1985. I pray all of your memories of this amazing woman will keep you. My heart is with you all.
