Suzanne Corrigan (née Vézina)
May 7, 1953 - June 17, 2021
Retired, 35 years, Library of Parliament
It is with great serenity that I inform you of my passing on June 17, 2021 at age 68.
After a 5 1/2 year valiant fight against multiple myeloma, it, against my will, has won the ultimate round.
I am predeceased by my parents Léo and Lucille Vézina as well as by my brother Paul Vézina.
I leave in mourning my daughter Mélanie, her husband Luc Charette and my dear grandchildren Christopher, Joshua and Valérie.
Mélanie has surpassed herself in each stage of my illness. She has surrounded me with love, compassion and excellent care to the end.
I wish to sincerely thank everyone who, in one way or another, has watched over me during this saga.
I have to mention Alan, Linda and Sonia who have shown me extreme generosity over several years.
Also, Gigi, Hélène and Mike, my long time loyal friends, known during my years of work at the Library of Parliament. They have showed me kindness and compassion, and this, on a daily basis.
Special thanks to Dr Andrea Kew of the Ottawa General Hospital for the extraordinary care she provided me with, as well as Dr. Chaput with the MAiD team that gave me the opportunity to die with dignity.
As per my last wishes there will be no celebration.
