Sophie Blanche Pinet (Dugas)

1925-2022

Sophie Blanche Pinet (Dugas) passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on May 5, 2022 at Willow's Estate in Aurora, Ontario

Born November 7th, 1925 in Caraquet, New Brunswick to Alexandre and Antoinette (Poirier) Dugas, Sophie, to all who knew her, was a fun, dynamic and the family "Jokester"! She was a caring woman who touched the lives of all who knew her.

She married Abbe Stanislaus Pinet (d 2008) in 1945 in Caraquet, New Brunswick and eventually moved to Cobalt, Ontario. She raised six children and was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Sophie was dedicated to her family as a homemaker and was a hairdresser for many years. Due to her love of making clothes, she worked at Bouzane's textile shop in Haileybury, Ontario for many years until she retired. Sophie's hobbies were knitting, sewing, cooking and she loved being outdoors to enjoy nature and the vegetable gardens.

Those wishing to do so may donate in Sophie's memory to a charity of choice or honor her memory by planting a tree. There will be no visitation or service at this time and a small private service for her family will be held at a future date.

To my beautiful wife Chantal, I know how much you love both your parents and the joy you get when you feel their presence. I honor your strength and committment to your family, our family and your values of love and compassion. At this, the end of a living journey for your wonderful mom, I want to express my heartfelt love for you and all you do. And as we shared earlier, your dad welcomed your mom with open arms and they are both smiling together.

Sophie's family

We had the pleasure of meeting Sophie a few short years ago. Sophie was always so full of life and the energy of her youth never left her, it was evident in her multiple daily walks and active lifestyle. A true inspiration. We know what an amazing mother and grandmother mother she was as we learned so much about her through her daughter and grandchildren, the joy they shared in retelling her stories is priceless.
Our condolences to the entire family. May her love shine bright through each of you.
