May my support
warm your heart
Our world got darker, but heaven got lot brighter as we bid farewell to Simone. She has now reunited with the love of her life, the late Laurent, with whom shared 60 years of marriage. There is not enough space to cover all that she has done in her 92 years, but her heart and soul was always her family, her friends, and her faith.
She raised four beloved children, Marcel (Joanne), Robert (Gayle), Lucille (Robert) Dolmovic, and Francine (Peter) Milot. She was a devoted and loving grandmother to Lauren (Brian) Polk, Jean-Paul Proulx, Trevor (Kiyah Benee) Dolmovic, Michelle (Chris) Obieglo, Eric Proulx, and Jocelyn (Jason) Proulx. She threw the rule book out the window when it came to her cherished great-grand-children, Emma and Warren Polk, Marissa Proulx, Simon Jackson and Ace Robert Dolmovic, Claire Obieglo, Riley Proulx, and Ethan Proulx. She leaves in grief her dear sisters Rita Couture and Yvonne Philips, sister-in-law Jackie Mainville, and many nieces and nephews, including her godson Darren Philips; who, along with her longtime friend and neighbour Doris Uhrayn, took such great care with helping her, especially during her final years. She loved her friends at the Encore Club, and we will forever hear her singing whenever we hear “Quand le soleil dit Bonjour au montaigne”. While her time at the Golden Manor in Timmins was brief, she adored, and in turn was adored by, those she met and was happy in her final days.
There wasn’t a single bone in Simone’s body that wasn’t forged in steel and a healthy dose of stubbornness. Her strong-will helped her navigate the many challenges life threw her way, and she taught us all how to persevere, no matter the challenge, and to always smile, laugh, and love with an open heart.
The family will be receiving visitors at Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative (111 Burnside Drive) on Wednesday March 26th from 10:30 am-12:30 pm for both family and friends, with a service to follow at la Paroisse de l’Assomption at 1:00 pm. Service will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.
