LEBLANC-LACASSE, Simone

1930 - 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our loving mother Simonne Leblanc Lacasse, on March 22, 2024, at the age of 93 at Montfort Long Term Care Home in Ottawa. Beloved wife of the late Rene Lacasse (2004), she was predeceased by all of her siblings (11 brothers and 1 sister).  Mother of Lucille Kittmer (Murray), Paulette Chartrand (Maurice), Doris Lacasse (Robert) and Normand Lacasse (Nancy), Grandmother of Stephanie Wiens (Jeremy), Jonathan Kittmer (Lisa), Laura Kittmer (Rhys), Tabitha Lacasse, Sylvie Chartrand and Lanna Lacasse and great-grandmother of Madison, Nathan, Jacqueline and Ifor.

The celebration of life will be held at the COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L'OUTAOUAIS, at 1369, La Vérendrye Boulevard West in Gatineau, on Friday April 12th, 2024 at 2 pm. The family will receive condolences as of 1:15pm. It will also be possible to view the ceremony, live or by replay, by following the link https://commemora.tv/fr/diffusions/88279

Family was of utmost importance to Simonne. During the multitude of family celebrations, you would find her cooking and baking up a storm in the kitchen. In retirement, Simonne and Rene enjoyed many trips and their winter years in Arizona. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. She will be sorely missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or to the Diabetes Society of Canada.

Online condolences may be made at www.cfo.coop

To The Whole Family

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I have been reflecting on my childhood these past few days and some of my best memories were created at your house on Park Street. The welcoming smile your Mom had when I would knock on the door, French being spoken and the only word I would understand was my name thrown into the middle of a sentence, the sleepovers but mostly those Saturday mornings when your mom would tirelessly bake all day, the desserts for the week. I never quite got the taste for “sugar” pie but everything else was mouth watering delicious. Your mom was all about family and life and centred around her. I always felt safe in her presence. Family meant everything to your Mom and I can see thru Lucille that her legacy lives on in you. My heart goes out to you and your family. Please accept my sincere condolences.
