We saw Richard recently at the memorial Mass for Gloria Henderson. We had the chance to have a lovely conversation with him, and we were devastated to hear of his passing.

My sincere condolences for the loss of Rick. Rick will be missed by all who knew him. I will miss his text or calls just to see how I was doing or his spontaneous visits. He was such a loveable person.
I would to express my deepest sympathies in the passing of your loved one Rick.
I worked with Rick for many years and looked forward in seeing his face everyday. He was a very kind soul who loved doing for others. Rick was bubbly and well liked by many.
When I think of Rick I think of chocolate....
Famous for bringing boxes and bars of goodies for the staff. Rick loved his job, loved running the cash, where he would greet his regular customers.
May you all find comfort in your time of loss.
R.I.P. Rick

My sympathy for your loss. Richard was a good and kind man. I got to know Waffy at high school. And after that I was fortunate enough to keep finding him at various LCBO. I was warned that he was the Candyman here. He liked giving his treats.
Whenever we had a chance to speak he was always asking who I had been talking to, and then keeping me up on the news. His real interest was people and being happy with and for them.
He is missed.
My deepest sympathy to you at this difficult time. As so many have mentioned Richard (The Candy Man) was such a thoughtful and caring person. He and I were friends from our high school days at D'arcy McGee and throughout our tenure at Heritage college. As with most, we lost contact but every once and while we would run into each other, and the funny thing is, I would ask him is he had a candy to share, and naturally the answer was "Of course I do" and out came a candy from his pocket. Richard (waffy, Candy Man), thanks for the great memories. Rest in peace my friend.
