Born March 8, 1946 in New York City; died August 30, 2024, aged 78, in Ottawa.

Best friend and loving partner of Eleanor Hora, loving father to Emmanuelle (Peter Kuperman) and Shoshanah (Thomas Ryan) and proud grandfather of Penelope, Beatrice, Caradoc, Cedric, and Cormac. Loner, critical social scientist, author, world traveler, lover of classical music, art history, baseball, and politics; a compulsive epistler and tilter at windmills. He lived by Orwell’s dictum that, « There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth, even against the whole world, you were not mad. »
