SCHRYER, Rachel Carmen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rachel Schryer, following a brief illness, on February 1, 2023 at the age of 77. Loving mother of Bonnie Ralph (Martin Guay) and Sean Ralph (Karine Thériault). Proud grandmother of Samuel Guay, Sarah Ralph, Mélanie Guay, Evelyne Ralph and Julianne Ralph. She will be missed by her brothers and sisters, Jacqueline Lefebvre, Florence Schryer Lalonde (Michel), Suzanne Delay, Denis Schryer (Mary-Jane), Monique Burmaster (John) and Marc Schryer (Anita), as well as many nephews, nieces and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Mederic and Jeanne Schryer, her brothers Robert, Gilles, Jimmy and Ivan, her husband Mark Smith and her lifelong friend Yolande Rhéaume.

Rachel was most proud of completing her degree at the University of Ottawa. She expressed her creativity through quilting and painting. She enjoyed life to the fullest and staying connected and spending time with friends and family was always important to her.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 10:30 in Saint-Jean-de-Brébeuf Church, 26 Kathleen Street in Sudbury, Ontario followed by a reception. The burial will take place on Sunday, June 4^th at noon in Saint-Bernadette cemetery, 72 Bluesea Road, Bonfield, Ontario.                                             

In Rachel’s memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
