MATTHEWS, Osborne " Candy "

Passed away peacefully at his home, on Wednesday, September 13th 2006, Mr. Osborne " Candy " Matthews at the age of 82 years, Beloved husband of the late Phyllis Cyr, dear father of John " Jack " and Michael "Mike "( Louise Fortin ); cherished grandfather of Jason, Jonathan, Katia ( Martin ), Tina ( Steve ) and Bryan; Candy also leaves to mourn his sisters-in-law: Helen Matthews ( late Ashton ), Murdina Matthews ( late Wallace ), Ellen Matthews ( late Leonard ), Doris Cyr and Laurianne Cyr ( late Roscoe ), also many nephews, nieces and friends. Respecting Mr. Matthews last wishes he was cremated and there will be no visitation. A farewell and military graveside service will be held in the Cookshire Cemetery, on Saturday, September 23rd 2006 at 11:00 a.m. The family would like to especially thank his good friends Emile Vermette and Gertrude Laroche for their support during his long illness and also the nursing staff of the Cookshire CLSC and the staff of the CHUS-Fleurimont Hospital 4e B ( nephrology ) for the excellent care given to Mr. Matthews. As memorial tributes, donations to the Cancer-Recherche of the CHUS-Fleurimont Hospital, 580 Bowen St. S. Sherbrooke, QC J1G 2E8, would greatly be appreciated by the family.
