At Carleton Lodge LTC residence in Ottawa (ON), Mitchell (Mike) passed away on 26 February 2025. Predeceased by sister Patsy, cousins Randy and Diane, he is survived by one uncle and aunt – Duke and Doris (Kynock) Clamp. Fondly nicknamed “Mickey / Mick” by cousins Betty (Earl), Donna (Grant) and Kathy (Larry), he leaves behind numerous cousins across Canada. He will be remembered affectionately by his partner’s large family, and long-time friends Germaine (Mike’s “sister”) and Rob.

To respect his wishes, cremation took place and there will be no memorial service. His partner, Robert, will hold private gatherings at later dates.

A gregarious Nova-Scotian, Mike relished good conversations and stories, occasionally spinning a tall one! Scratch the surface and you would find a caring soul ready to help. Mike was a nature and animal lover. Owner of dogs for 35 years, his favorite was a half-blind female Shih Tzu he lovingly called “my little girl”. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of a walk in parks, forests, or along waterways with the dogs.

Donations to your local chapter of the Canadian Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.

Robert thanks Drs. Bocz and Vasquez as well as all the personnel of Carleton Lodge for the excellent person-centered care provided.
