Toutes mes sympathies mon cher ami. À toi et à tous tes proches. Mes pensées vous accompagnent dans cette dure épreuve.
Mr. Maurice Charbonneau died in Gatineau on July 25, 2024 at the CHSLD Lionel-Émond, at the age of 90. Born in Jonquière, he was the eldest son of the late Aldéric Charbonneau and the late Dora Létourneau. He was married for 57 years to the late Monique Bouchard. He is survived by his children Paul (Jrène Rahm) and Louise (Pascale Charron), his grandchildren Roland and Nicolas Charbonneau-Rahm, his sister Dora Murphy, his partner of the last years Lorraine Lamothe, as well as many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces and many friends.
He was an extraordinary husband, father and grandfather, a faithful companion, a great traveller with a passion for history, geography, trains and jazz. A lawyer by trade, he had a long and fulfilling career with the federal Department of Justice, where he worked for several years in the area of correctional law. He also served for several years on the National Parole Board, first at the trial level and then later in the Appeal Division.
