It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Margaret 'Maggie' Elizabeth Fletcher Turcotte. Maggie passed away peacefully in Gatineau QC, surrounded by her family. She was the chosen child of Herbert and Anne Hendry Fletcher. Beloved wife of 47 years to Richard Turcotte, cherished mother to Kenna (Gregory Marchildon) and Allanna (Joshua Gibson). Forever missed by her treasured grandchildren Alexandre, Laurelle, Julien Phaneuf and James and Ian Gibson.

Born in Saskatoon as Patricia Jean Stewart to her birth mother Betty Faye Stewart McHugh. Maggie is survived by her siblings Beverley Shea Funnell, Kirby Funnell and RD and Frank McHugh.

Maggie was a devoted and lifelong educator who deeply cared and took interest in everyone she encountered. Her bravery, loyalty, strength and determination are reflected in all those whom she encouraged to achieve their dreams, no matter what they might be.

The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday the 16th of January 2019, at 11:00 am followed by a reception at Saint-Mark the Evangelist Church located at 160 Principal Street in Gatineau (Aylmer). The family will be present to receive condolences at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the The Aylmer Food Center, located at 67 rue du Couvent in Gatineau (Aylmer).

How lucky I am to have known someone who makes saying goodbye so hard! But as I replay the memories of so many good times spent together, I know you have your Highland Welcome. Farewell, Maggie!
Richard, Kenna, Allanna: toutes mes sympathies les plus sincères. Perdre quelqu'un d'aussi important fait tellement mal et ça peut sembler impossible de célébrer sa vie comme elle le désirait quand la douleur de son décès est encore si fraîche. Je vous souhaite de vivre votre deuil avec sérénité et de trouver la paix en vous remémorant son souvenir.

Dès notre première rencontre,nous l'avons aimée pour son ouverture aux besoins des étudiants et des professeurs, son contact chaleureux, son professionnalisme et son goût de toujours améliorer les services offerts. Travailler avec Maggie a d'abord été une expérience humaine à la hauteur de son grand Coeur et de son désir d'aider.
